Staff Awards and Recognition Program

Award Categories

• Mr. Bill Broyles Assistant Vice President, Emeritus, Professional of the Year
• Dr. Brit R. Katz New Professional of the Year (Less than three years as a professional in the Division). Could also cover someone who has less than five years experience within Student Affairs.
• Dr. Brit R. Katz Director of the Year
• Newcomer of the Year (New to the Division)
• Support Staff Employee of the Year - Clerical/Office
• Support Staff Employee of the Year - Custodial/Maintenance
• Support Staff Employee of the Year - Other
• Graduate Assistant of the Year - First Year
• Graduate Assistant of the Year - Second Year
• Student Employee of the Year
• Team/Committee of Excellence
• Program of Excellence

Nominees Should Meet the Following Criteria

• Contributes to student development and success
• Advances the mission of Student Affairs and the MSU community
• Promotes a positive environment for MSU students and/or staff
• Collaborates and generates creative solutions in daily work

Recipient Awards for Each Category

• Support staff awards (clerical, custodial, other), GA Assistant 1 and 2, and the Student Employee of the Year will be presented with a cash award.
• Director of the Year, Professional of the Year, New Professional of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year will be presented with a "budget award" that can be applied towards any professional development that takes place in the current or next Academic Year(conference fee, conference travel, certification course, etc.).
• Program and team of excellence will each receive a budget award that can be used in support of future programming associated with the respective team or program.

Nominations for Staff Awards will open March 2nd and close March 27th.  Submissions will then be reviewed by the Student Affairs Leadership Team and recipients will be recognized at the annual Student Affairs Awards program. MSU years of service awards and Professional Development certificates will also be given at this time.
